What is Four Star Hotel Accommodation?

The star classification is used to rank products and services such as movies, television programmes and restaurants. It is also a common way to rate hotels, with the number of stars indicating how luxurious the accommodation is. The star rating of each hotel is decided by an independently assessed system which relates to the facilities provided in the hotel. The facilities that are considered as part of the star rating could include food services, entertainment choices, the variety of rooms, spas, fitness centres, extra amenities, the view and the location.

One star accommodation has the basic essentials for tourists, including bathroom facilities with soap, colour television, table and chair. Two stars means standard hotel accommodation as well as a breakfast buffet, reading light, shower gel and some other toiletry products. Three star hotel accommodation has an increased comfort level with seating at reception, a luggage service and extras in the room such as beverages, telephone and internet access, bathroom heating and hair drying equipment.

A four star hotel ranking is generally regarded as an indication of first class accommodation. It is only one step down from the luxury five star rated hotels. A four star hotel would have all the qualities and facilities of a three star hotel, but its higher four star ranking would mean that the hotel has extras such as longer reception hours, 24 hour phone access and a lobby with seats. Food service at a four star hotel includes a breakfast buffet or breakfast menu card. Each four star room would contain a minibar or beverages available through room service at any hour. An a la carte restaurant would be a typical addition in a four star hotel.

The four star room contains an upholstered chair or couch as well as a side table. Personal extras at this level of hotel accommodation would include a bath robe and slippers if requested, vanity mirror and cosmetic products such as a shower cap, nail file and cotton swabs. It would also include internet access and an internet terminal.

Four star hotels can have an additional superior label. In that case, the superior flag would indicate that the first class hotel has high quality throughout the premises and provides additional services such as a sauna and a gymnasium. Mystery guests check quality on a regular basis to make sure that the rating is accurate and standards haven't slipped. Regular feedback from paying guests also helps companies to assess whether they are living up to their star rating.

A Beachfront Villa Hotel on Ambergris Caye

For unparalleled luxury in Belize check out Pelican Reef Villas Resort on Ambergris Caye. A beachfront villa hotel on Ambergris Caye has everything going for it, and the Pelican Reef Villas Resort doesn't disappoint. This is an absolutely top class luxury hotel and resort, based on the rental of owned condos and villas. This is the kind of secluded very upmarket place that would make for the perfect Belize Honeymoon Package.

The villas are very spacious, very comfortable, and seem very new, with glorious views of the sea. If you have a two bedroom villa, then you will have two sundecks, one outside the master bedroom, and a great place to sit in the morning looking out and just relaxing in a dressing gown, whilst the birds cavort around, and the noises from the undergrowth are the way you know you are in the tropics.

There can be some confusion over when is a resort like this actually a self catering holiday, and when is it a hotel. Pelican Reef Villas Resort actually doesn't have a restaurant, a lounge, so there are no meals, but there is a swim up bar in the pool, and a full service bar. What really qualifies Pelican Reef Villas Resort as a Hotel/Resort is the fact that there is housekeeping service every day, which pretty well takes care of the routine chores, and apart from the lack of a restaurant there is pretty well all of the facilities you would expect in a hotel, such as pool, and the staff who look after you who are excellent. In fact you won't really miss a restaurant on the premises, because for one thing they do restrict what you do and when you do it. You do have a fully equipped kitchen if you want to use it.

There is a small grocery store close by, so breakfast isn't a problem, and in the heat a snack is all that is needed at lunch time and you can get this at the store, and there are good restaurants near by where you can get pretty good seafood.

Restaurants that come recommended include the Sunset Grill, and Carumbas. You will probably want to hire a golf cart when you are there, as it makes you independent, and able to go into San Pedro which is only a couple of miles away. This is an interesting place and it and the area around are worth a couple of visits or even more. One of the delights of Pelican Reef Villas Resort is the Pier, which means you don't have to wade into the water, you can jump in off the pier which is a great place to sunbathe. It is also good for snorkeling, and for those of you who like snorkeling, but not the boat trips this is ideal.

The final word about Pelican Reef Villas Resort this delightful beachfront villa hotel has to be about the caring staff. Everything is covered, from picking you up at the airport, to arranging trips, to answering questions, all done with willingness and a smile, and that is why it isn't a self catering holiday but a resort, a luxury hotel, because the villas are so great, and perfect for a Belize Honeymoon Package.
